The Minnesota Human Rights Act MHRA protects transgender individuals from discrimination or retaliation. Under the MHRA’s “sexual orientation” definition, transgender individuals are included as protected classes of persons if they have a “self-image or identity not traditionally associated with one’s biological maleness or femaleness.”
